Adrian

Hug by Jez Alborough
This almost wordless book is one of our favorites to read, you can change the story a bit each time, but the animals in the jungle are all totally cool and help Bobo find his mommy and get a hug.
The Napping House by Audrey and Don Wood
The repetition in this one is fun, but Adrian loves the bluish illustrations of the whole house piling on top of one another to take a snooze.
Caps for Sale by Esphyr Slobodkina
This one's a classic, but still so much fun. And the monkey noises make Adrian smile every time.
The Curious Garden by Peter Brown
This one is a recent fave. Great illustrations and it's about the Highline in NYC so it has fun local appeal. Once he's old enough to understand, Adrian will totally love visiting the Highline in person after reading about a boy who began a beautiful garden on top of an elevated old subway line.
Dex: The Heart of a Hero by Caralyn and Mark Buehner
A dachshund getting fit so he can become a superhero and save other animals in the neighborhood. We have two dachshunds so Adrian really enjoys this funny and heartwarming story, but the illustrations of Dex and his little muscles are worth it alone.
Moo Baa La La La by Sandra Boynton. Boynton's books are so fun to read aloud, you can sing them or rap them or say them simply, but they are always fun. This one is currently Adrian's favorite, but he also loves Going to Bed Book and Barnyard Dance.
